Extreme Weather Forces Postponement

Nottingham Forest's Championship game at The City Ground, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow, has been postponed due to the extreme weather.

Although the pitch is playable, the safety of supporters was at the heart of the decision which was taken this morning after consultations between both clubs, the Football League and local authorities.

Approach roads and pavements around The City Ground remain treacherous and the arctic conditions have caused problems within the stadium with several pipes bursting overnight.

And with another night of sub-zero temperatures forecast there's little possibility of the situation easing.

Chief Executive Mark Arthur said: "It's not a decision that was taken lightly but the safety of both sets of supporters, as well as our staff, is of paramount importance."

A new date for the game has yet to be decided.

Tickets for the game will be valid for the rearranged fixture.

Supporters unable to attend the rearranged game will be eligible for a full refund from the Ticket Office once a new date for the game has been finalised.
